Biodiversity
Maintaining and strengthening biodiversity is a key component of our natural resource conservation strategy.
Biodiversity loss poses the risk of impacting the natural resources we all depend on – and can have economic and health risks when it comes to vital ecosystem-dependent services like food, water, heat and electricity.
As outlined in our Biodiversity Policy, our commitments include:
- Protecting species and habitats through positive conservation management;
- Minimizing the impacts of new infrastructure on biodiversity and using environmental assessments for new projects;
- Integrating biodiversity into applicable environmental management systems and establishing criteria to monitor progress.
To learn more about recent progress and actions, we invite you to view our most current Corporate Responsibility Report.
We also maintain Corporate Policies which describe our commitments and actions in more detail. These are part of our comprehensive Governance System which can be viewed on our website.
