AUGUSTA WARMING CENTER TO OPEN EARLY
The Augusta Community Warming Center, a critical community space and one of the few safe accessible escapes from the cold for local residents in Maine, will open for the winter one month early thanks in large part to funding and employee efforts from the Avangrid Foundation and Central Maine Power. CMP has a long history of supporting the Warming Center with annual donations of clothing, toiletries, and snacks every winter, a time of critical need. For more than a century, CMP has strived to be a good neighbor, and this year worked hard to raise the bar.

Renewables' Newest Solar Project
Our newest solar project, and second one in Oregon, the Wy’East Solar Project in Sherman County, reached commercial operation last month. Built near our Klondike wind farms in the Columbia River Gorge, the 10 MW project features more than 38,000 panels on less than 100 acres belonging to a family from whom we’ve leased land from for wind turbines for years. The construction effort put more than 120 workers on the job, and injected nearly half a million dollars into the local economy.
At the forefront of digital transformation
Iberdrola group plans to invest 4.8 billion euros in digital transformation between 2018 and 2022 and will focus its investment effort on improving the operation and maintenance of its assets by using data analytics and artificial intelligence, and increasing the availability of its generation plants.
We invest in renewable generation resources, support advanced research for energy and smart grid innovation, promote conservation and the use of electric, hybrid or compressed natural gas vehicles, support responsible environmental policies, and seek to reduce our carbon footprint.
AVANGRID in the community
The Avangrid Foundation is the primary charitable arm of AVANGRID, and is committed to supporting community initiatives that enhance the quality of life where AVANGRID and its subsidiaries operate.
Our customers deserve reliable service. We are building a stronger, smarter grid that is ready to handle the demands of the future.
