Paid Internship Experiences

Our paid Internship Experience is a 10-week immersive program to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for a career at Avangrid. 

The program follows the 70/20/10 model of learning: 

  • 70% On-the-Job Experience: Interns are assigned business-critical projects to support strategic initiatives.
  • 20% Relationships: Interns build connections with the Talent Development team, their Hiring Manager, coworkers, and fellow interns through biweekly Cohort Connects.
  • 10% Formal Training: Interns participate in biweekly workshops and speaker sessions to learn practical skills, including personal branding and effective communication.

Interns showcase their achievements in a final five-minute pitch, which is celebrated company wide. Top interns will be eligible for full-time roles within Avangrid, including entry into our Rotational Graduate Program.

Rotational Graduate Program

Our Rotational Graduate Program is designed to prepare early career employees to be future leaders or technical specialists within Avangrid. The two-year program is intended for recent graduates with less than two years of professional experience. Rotational Graduates start in an entry-level position in a specific field and work to become well-rounded members of their Hiring Manager’s team upon completion of the program.

The program follows the 70/20/10 model of learning: 

  • 70% On-the-Job Experience: Rotational Graduates rotate through three to four challenging assignments locally within Avangrid, with the opportunity to rotate internationally within the Iberdrola Group, typically in Spain or the UK.
  • 20% Relationships: Rotational Graduates build connections with the Talent Development team, their Hiring Manager, Rotational Managers, coworkers, a formal mentor from the business, and fellow Rotational Graduates through quarterly Cohort Connects.  
  • 10% Formal Training: Rotational Graduates participate in quarterly workshops to learn practical skills, including giving and receiving feedback, embracing change, and leading meetings.
