EEI Announces Avangrid Networks as Emergency Response Award Recipients

Central Maine Power, NYSEG and RG&E, and United Illuminating recognized for their Hurricane Helene response 

Orange, CT. — September 25, 2025 — Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, announced that its network companies are Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Emergency Response Award Recipients.  Central Maine Power (CMP), New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E), and United Illuminating (UI) were honored for their outstanding assistance efforts following Hurricane Helene.

Presented to EEI member companies twice a year, the Emergency Response Awards recognize recovery and assistance efforts of electric companies following service disruptions caused by extreme weather or other natural events. The winners were chosen by a panel of judges following an international nomination process. The awards were presented during EEI’s Fall Board of Directors and Chief Executives Meeting.
