Avangrid’s Central Maine Power Announces Premiere of “On the Line by CMP”

First podcast series produced by a transmission and distribution utility in Northern New England

AUGUSTA, ME — July 13, 2023 Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a leading sustainable energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, announced today that its Maine company, Central Maine Power (CMP), has premiered a new podcast titled On the Line by CMP. This is part of CMP’s commitment to providing clear information about its role in delivering safe, reliable power to families and businesses across Maine.

“Our new podcast provides a unique way for us to connect with our customers and help them further understand the complex issues related to electric utilities and our company,” said Pedro Azagra, Avangrid CEO. “There is much more to delivering reliable power than meets the eye. This podcast will peek behind the curtain and put on full display the hard work done daily by the men and women at Avangrid and CMP. We’re excited to share this with our customers, communities and the energy industry at large.”

This podcast covers broad topics related to electricity in New England. It will:

  • Take listeners behind-the-scenes with organizations that operate New England’s power grid.

  • Include interviews about how Maine is working to electrify everything, and how we engage with communities to prepare for a future with more electric vehicles and renewable energy.

  • Explore the role CMP plays in enabling communities to do big things, such as staging the Yarmouth Clam Festival each year.

On the Line by CMP provides a new way for customers, community leaders, and anyone in between to learn how electricity powers our homes, businesses, and daily lives. It is the first podcast series produced by an electric utility in Northern New England.

It is hosted by Dustin Wlodkowski, Emmy Award-winning former NEWS CENTER Maine journalist, and Katie Yates, creator of Fish + Game Changers, the podcast of Maine’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, who will travel the state – and the region – to examine how electricity shapes our everyday life.
