Avangrid Receives Two National Awards for Workforce Innovation
Orange, CT — September 8, 2026 — Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, announced it has again been recognized with two Brandon Hall Group HCM (Human Capital Management) Excellence Awards. The HCM Excellence Awards recognize organizations that successfully develop and deploy programs, strategies, technologies, and solutions that deliver measurable business results and advance excellence in Human Capital Management.
“Developing a skilled, adaptable workforce is critical to meeting the evolving needs of the energy industry,” said Avangrid CEO José Antonio Miranda. “These awards reflect Avangrid's commitment to creating learning opportunities that empower employees, strengthen our capabilities, and support a safe and reliable energy future.”
“These recognitions validate the focused work behind each program: designing learning experiences that are practical, measurable, and directly connected to how our people solve business challenges,” said Ignacio Estella, SVP of Talent Performance, Innovation & Equal Opportunity. “For us, the strength is not only in offering development opportunities, but in the focused work of creating opportunity for talent, innovating in ways that those experiences build critical capabilities, improve decision-making, and create value for the business.”
Avangrid earned a Gold award in the Best Use of Games or Simulations for Learning category for its Rate Case Financial Acumen program, developed in partnership with Advantexe, and a Bronze award in the Best Program for Upskilling Employees category for Energizing the Evolution for the Open Mentoring Program, developed in partnership with MentorcliQ.
"The HCM Excellence Awards have become the most recognized benchmark for excellence in human capital management because organizations know they are earned, not given. Every winning program has demonstrated measurable impact, innovation, and execution through one of the industry's most rigorous evaluation processes. We are proud to recognize the organizations setting the standard for the future of work," said Mike Cooke, CEO, Brandon Hall Group™.
For more than 30 years, the Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards have recognized organizations that are shaping the future of Human Capital Management. Over time, the program has become widely regarded as the “Academy Awards of Human Capital Management” for its longevity, independent evaluation, and commitment to recognizing measurable excellence. Organizations around the world aspire to earn this distinction because it represents more than innovation. It recognizes initiatives that demonstrate meaningful business impact, thoughtful execution, and measurable results.
