AVANGRID Honors Partners at Supplier Awards Event
ORANGE, Conn. — Sept. 13, 2017 — AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a diversified energy and utility company, named a Texas-based supplier of wind turbine components as its 2017 Supplier of the Year at an event that celebrated the achievements of business partners across a wide range of categories.
NGC Renewables, based in Fort Worth, Texas, provides gearboxes and other mechanical components for wind turbines used by Avangrid Renewables. NGC stood out for embodying the highest qualities of partnership and teamwork, while meeting AVANGRID’s exacting standards for quality and performance.
“AVANGRID has a large supplier base supporting its operations in North America, so I’m surprised and honored that AVANGRID selected NGC as its 2017 Supplier of the Year,” said Tom Marek, NGC's senior manager for wind business development.
The company was one of seven honorees at AVANGRID’s 2nd Annual Supplier Awards Event, held Sept. 12 at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven, Connecticut. Approximately 250 suppliers and AVANGRID employees from coast to coast turned out to attend the awards event.

This event honors our shared vision and values, and our business partners’ vital role in executing them,” said James P. Torgerson, AVANGRID’s CEO.
In addition to Supplier of the Year, six other awards were presented, representing a broad range of shared values. They were:

- Environmental Stewardship — True Blue Environmental Services (Wallingford, Connecticut)
- Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility — Par Electrical Contractors, Inc. (Kansas City, Missouri)
- Supplier Innovation — Simple Energy (Boulder, Colorado)
- Diverse Supplier — SAI Systems International Inc. (Shelton, Connecticut)
- Storm Excellence — On Target Utility Services (Gardiner, Maine)
Business partners were nominated by employees of AVANGRID and its businesses. Winners were selected by a steering committee, as well as representatives of the AVANGRID purchasing team.
