Foundation donated $3.2 million and partnered with more than

300 organizations in 2019

 

ORANGE, Conn. — Aug. 19, 2020 — The Avangrid Foundation, the primary philanthropic arm of sustainable energy company AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), today released its 2019 Annual Impact Report, chronicling its efforts to help those in need and build sustainable communities.

The Avangrid Foundation invested more than $3.2 million and partnered with more than 300 organizations through direct and matching gift programs in 2019. Building on longstanding partnerships and initiatives across the 24-state AVANGRID company footprint and beyond, the “Energized for Good” report features stories about the environment, preserving cultural and artistic heritage, advancing education, and improving the lives of people where AVANGRID does business.

“The Avangrid Foundation’s work is helping create a healthier, more equitable and sustainable future for people and communities, and it’s possible because we’re deeply rooted in the places we serve,” said Nicole Grant, the Avangrid Foundation Executive Director. “Even in uncertain times, forging partnerships with grassroots and global organizations is how we execute a vision to make meaningful social impact.”

From strategic partnerships with the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, RAINN, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to employee-nominated community grants in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, South Dakota and Oregon, the Foundation’s giving is anchored by the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
