Avangrid Foundation Invested More Than $3 Million to Make Positive Impact in Communities in 2019

ORANGE, Conn. — Jan. 16, 2020 — The Avangrid Foundation built on its growing record of positive community impact in 2019, investing more than $3 million in grants, scholarships and matching gift programs across the United States.

The Foundation provided the support as part of ongoing partnerships with more than 300 partners in more than 30 states. Its investments increased significantly over 2018, when the Foundation provided approximately $2.5 million to support philanthropic causes.

“The Avangrid Foundation is driven by AVANGRID’s purpose of working together to deliver a more accessible clean energy model that promotes healthier, more sustainable communities every day,” said Jim Torgerson, the Foundation’s president. “The work of the Foundation is a testament to the strong partnerships we have built and our focus on innovating and investing to create a more equitable, vibrant and sustainable future in communities across the United States.”
