Avangrid Foundation Celebrates The Season of Giving

ORANGE, Connecticut — December 19, 2018 — The Avangrid Foundation, the principal philanthropic arm of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR) and its subsidiary companies, awarded nearly $2.5 million to more than 325 organizations through grants, scholarships and matching gift programs throughout 2018.

 

The Foundation’s support for basic needs like housing, fuel assistance and food reached thousands of individuals and their families. The foundation also invests with prominent partners like Yale University, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the American Red Cross, that are making a difference locally and globally in the areas of education, environment and climate action, as well as sustainable development

The Avangrid Foundation’s giving also aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which call for global action to tackle the major environmental, social and economic challenges threatening the future of the planet through more inclusive and sustainable development models.

 

The contributions from the Avangrid Foundation directly benefit individuals and communities across the AVANGRID service territory in 24 states, including those served by the company’s affiliates, which include NYSEG and RG&E (New York); Central Maine Power and Maine Natural Gas (Maine); United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas (Connecticut); and Berkshire Gas Company (Massachusetts). The contributions also support organizations in communities nationwide served by Avangrid Renewables, which is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
