Ongoing construction this summer at multiple Avangrid renewable energy facilities helped the Company eclipse 9GW of installed capacity
9 GW of onshore wind and solar capacity at more than 75 sites can produce enough energy to power more than 2.3 million U.S. homes

 

ORANGE, Conn. — Aug. 13, 2024 — Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a leading sustainable energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, has eclipsed 9 Gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity at its onshore wind and solar sites this summer.

Avangrid’s onshore wind and solar portfolio includes more than 75 projects spread across 22 states. It has over 8 GW of installed wind capacity and about 1 GW of installed solar capacity, including projects that are currently under construction. Construction progress at multiple Avangrid projects this summer helped the Company reach this 9 GW milestone. These renewable energy projects not only help each state, and the country, reach their climate goals, but deliver important community benefits by creating jobs, boosting economic growth, and contributing to the tax base.
