Applications Now Available for Avangrid Foundation Energy & Environment Scholarships
New Gloucester, ME (December 13, 2016) – The Avangrid Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for master’s studies in energy and/or the environment at Binghamton University, Cornell University, the University of Connecticut, Oregon State University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Maine, and the University of Rochester in the United States; ICAI School of Engineering in Spain; and the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom for the 2017/2018 academic year.
“We believe it is our duty to help identify and develop the next generation of energy leaders,” said Bob Kump, President of Avangrid Foundation, and CEO of Avangrid Networks. “This scholarship program is a clear example of our proud record of environmental stewardship and concern for the planet.”
The Avangrid Scholarship is open to U.S. Nationality students wishing to pursue master’s level work with an emphasis on sustainable energy, energy efficiency and climate-related areas of study, in addition to more specific business areas. The grants cover full tuition, fees and health insurance, and provide a $25,200 annual stipend for other expenses.
The Scholarships for the fall semester of the 2017-2018 academic year are for post-graduate studies at the named universities in the following areas of study:
- Renewable energy
- Sustainable energy systems
- Environment and biodiversity
- Clean combustion technologies and emissions management
- Energy efficiency
- Energy storage
- Electric vehicles
- Information and communications technology (ICT)
- Data science
- Wind power technology
- Meteorology
