Forbes Names AVANGRID One of Connecticut’s Best-In-State Employers 2020
ORANGE, Conn. — September 17, 2020 — AVANGRID (NYSE: AGR), a leading sustainable energy company, has been recognized as part of Forbes’ annual list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2020.
Headquartered in Orange, Connecticut, AVANGRID has 1,700 Connecticut-based employees and three companies, United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas serving the state as part of its nationwide portfolio of electric, gas and renewable energy companies.

The surveys provide a representative sample of the U.S. workforce by assessing Atmosphere & Development, Company Image, Working Conditions, Salaries & Wages, and Diversity.

Established in 1847, Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) serves approximately 203,000 customers; Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG), established in 1848, services approximately 181,500 customers; and United Illuminating (UI), began its operations in 1899 and serves approximately 339,000 customers in the state.
