Creating a Sustainable Energy Future

Innovative minds from the energy sector, academia and non-governmental organizations showcased efforts to harness innovation to support sustainability at the third annual AVANGRID Innovation Forum. Titled “Innovation for Sustainable Development,” it featured keynote addresses from national climate and energy leaders and provided a showcase for AVANGRID employees’ innovations.

For a Decarbonized Future

Iberdrola group has set itself to reducing the intensity of its CO2 emissions by 30% by 2020, 50% by 2030 and, finally, to be carbon neutral by 2050. This objective is part of its commitment to contributing to limiting the increase in global temperature to below 1.5 °C.

AVANGRID Solidifies Clean Energy Leadership

Park City Wind Project

Vineyard Wind’s Park City Wind project, co-owned by Avangrid Renewables, will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in the nation. Park City Wind will generate 804 megawatts of clean energy. The project’s staging area will be at the Bridgeport (Conn.) Harbor and will be a significant economic driver, as it includes an estimated $890 million in economic benefits for the state.
